First Things First   "Who, what and where is Champlin Park?" 
   
For those of you who stumbled across us by accident, "Champlin Park" is the name of our office, and we're deeply involved in the exciting business of residential real estate, mortgages and related services,

We're a branch office within Edina Realty Home Services.  We are located in Champlin Minnesota, just northwest of the Twin Cities.

We have an awesome team of real estate professionals, dedicated to providing a superior customer experience.

Who am I?  My name is Paul Phillippi, the managing broker (and rookie webmaster) of this amazing office.

What is the significance of the terms 'Off Stage' and 'On Stage' ?
With respect to champlinpark.com, the web site has two distinct areas, each with it's unique mission.  Our "On Stage" area is a 'public site' used to communication with our community.  The "Off Stage" area is our 'private area' utilized for our internal communication.  The page you are reading now is part of our offstage area.  Think of this offstage area as 'behind the scenes', a place that is not designed for the public's eye.
 
What is the purpose of the "On Stage" area?.
The 'Onstage Area' is the site the consumer experiences when they visit the URL: www.champlinpark.com  It's through this area of our site that we communicate with our community.  Often we use the web site in conjunction with our office marquee to communicate more information about a particular event we're involved in such as a blood drive or our Play House Give-a-way.  When we have the opportunity, we support various local organizations in the promotion of their event, such as:   Relay For Life , The Dani Golf Classic and Champlin's Father Hennepin Festival.  We also re-emphasize company sponsored events such as the Minnesota Twins Ticket Promotion.   
 
What is the 'Off Stage' area used for?
Having personally been involved in agent development and office management for over twenty years, I've experienced the challenge (frustration) of maintaining and distributing various material.  And once the material was distributed, was is easily assessable when needed?  Most of the time I'd roll out a new policy, or conduct a training workshop complete with handouts and support materials, only to have an agent come to me two weeks later asking about the details of the policy or looking for the handout.

With an internet based communication, such as champlinpark.com,  I now have ability to create and distribute information at the speed of thought!  and more importantly, have it readability accessible!  I look at the offstage area as a web based filing cabinet.  An ever evolving area, that I can customize to support the day to day challenges of my agents and staff.  All that said; you'll find our 'Offstage Area' is an eclectic mix of communication; from policy's and guidelines to training workshops and 'Gotta minutes'.

Function before Fashion:  As you browse our site, it will soon be apparent that this site IS NOT one of those flashy web sites.  If you're looking for a site that is flawlessly designed with every page perfect and all the spelling and punctuation correct, then I'm going to encourage you to close this window and move onto a different site altogether!

By personally assuming the role of 'webmaster' I eliminated an entire series of steps that are usually involved in the 'traditional' creation of a web site.  The steps where I would tell a web designer what I envisioned, and then they, in turn would turn around and design the area, coming back to me for my input and changes, and we would go back and forth several times to design a new area or page.  And then, anytime I would want to make a change or update, I would need to coordinate it with the web designer.  Thanks,...but no thanks!      What I gained in speed and timely response, I lost in creative layout and web design.   I trade off I'm willing to accept.
